"Please lift your trays and place your chair in an upright position" is a phrase that Alexandra has heard many times. She has traveled to many different countries which has helped her open her mind to different ideas. This has led her to practice yoga and muay thai. Her many tattoos are also an example of her expansive ideas as an expression of her individuality. Her individuality did not stop her from being a complete outsider. She loves the 80's pop culture and to this day still wants to be Bender from the Breakfast Club.

This is probably going to be the least read entry on here, but dammit, I’m gunna write it anyway! I hate page requirements on papers yeah, I said it. I hate them with every fiber of my being. Unless you haven’t been able to tell from my previous posts, I am a very straightforward, cut to the chase kind of woman. Ask me a question, and you will get an answer, just don’t expect some long drawn out thing. Think of me as the female version of Anthony bourdain…..with better hair. Which somehow leads me to my rant.
I am… Continue Reading

What has happened to the days when everything you learned in school was useful? I mean, I’m not crazy right? Wasn’t there a time when our teachers constantly harped on us that everything we learned in school was useful? Well, apparently those days are gone.
The end of this week brings to close my second week of classes at my college. However, I am starting to feel more than slightly angry. There is a trend going around my campus of professors claiming, “Just work hard and get through this class, you won’t be using any information you learn here anyway.”… Continue Reading

For most of us, pets are considered to be part of the family. When a family member passes away unexpectedly, it can be quite a shock and this still applies to those of us whom have forged tight bonds with their family members or “companion animals”.
My companion Sam died recently and I have been in a pretty deep depression since then. After noticing that Sam was breathing funny, I decided to take him to the emergency vet not too far from my home.
Sam passed away in my arms before I could make it out of the parking lot… Continue Reading

Twilight scares me….no really, I am twenty five years old and scared of Edward Cullen. Why you might, ask am I afraid? I am afraid that after getting sucked into the fad that was/is Twilight, that I will unconsciously seek out and end up with some douche like Edward.
Now, fear not my young readers who may feel that I have just blasphemized against the almighty eighty-year-old sex idol, I (sadly) love Edward. In fact, I own all of the Twilight books, I read them all in about 3 days, once I finished the first one, I drove directly to… Continue Reading

“…. You can do anything you put your mind to.” “If you want it bad enough, that is all that matters”. It is statements like these that parents are told to tell their children, and statements like these that parents need to stop saying to their children.
During the 1960’s and 1970’s, a movement in parenting happened. All of a sudden the idea of promoting self-esteem to your child became “the thing”, and it has been with us ever since. The problem is however, we now are seeing generations of kids who are stubborn and want to think that they… Continue Reading
