L-O-V-E spells……

Valentine’s day just past not too long ago. Does that really represent love in any way shape or form? How is giving a card, candy, stuffed animal and/or some cheesy trinket to your significant other suppose to represent your love for them? How can human emotion be contained in such a cheap physical form?

Love is relative. It means differently to each and every individual. It feels different too. Some people feel that love is a great emotion while others believe that it is just one huge sacrifice that is endless but does not matter since they care about the other person so much. If there are so many good things about this great emotion and has been written and sung about in countless ballads and poetry……Then why does it hurt so much when the other person does not have the same feeling ? How can one person claim that they had no idea how you felt when they were the ones fueling your passion and need to be close with them always. Love isn’t some abstract idea that will never happen to some people. It happens to the strong, the weak, the happy, and the sad. It happens to everyone who has a beating heart and a functional mind. So that covers about the 6.6 billion people that inhabit the earth. So why does  seem like sometimes that even when your in a room full of people you cannot help but feel so alone and alienated. That sometimes you feel like you tried so many times with so many people different people with different scenarios that you get so frustrated and put your hands up in the air in surrender then the inevitable bitterness sets in and takes over. The attitude of been-there-done-that fully manifests and changes you into a person that you would have never predicted. It seems like people in the end of the day are selfish, heartless fiends that will do anything and everything to reach their own goals.

Is that reality? Maybe. Is life really just the survival of the fittest where the organisms that got lucky with the gene pool live to reproduce so that their offspring have mutations that will enable them to evolve and grow so that future generations will thrive successfully? Are the weak merely forgotten and looked down upon just because they are not naturally equipped with the best tools of survival? We can probably take this concept of evolution and apply it to how people interact on an emotional basis. Is it really a weakness to be nice and be vocal about feelings? Is it a strength to be distant, cautious and have different facades for different settings?

All I have to say to the people who take the latter route with life is just live and be. Bad breakups and heartache are natural occurrences and are must in the process of growing as a individual. Don’t let these situations set and define you in a negative way. People fail to look at problems and issues as a positive force when they happen. Without them you will never know what your full potential is or how to deal with the future challenges that life can throw at you. Life is all about change. All about love. All about reaching out and helping your fellow man cause we are all in this struggle of survival together. Nothing is guaranteed for tomorrow so let us celebrate today.

I’m not saying to go hug a random person on the street or sing kumbaya in a semi circle with your neighbors with a campfire in the middle of the night. Just use this as a point of view that can help you look at a life in a way that can help you manage yourself and others around you. You will learn that you gain more out of experiences this way.
