Batman vs. Superman

Superman was raised as Clark Kent in Smallville but on Krypton, his home planet, he was given the name Kal El. He was sent to earth because Krypton was destroyed. Under Earth’s yellow sun, Superman has numerous powers including: super speed, super strength, flight, x ray vision, etc. He also has a Fortress of Solitude which houses many Kryptonian technologies as well as other alien artifacts that are typically far more advanced than what can be found on earth.
Batman was born and raised on Earth and has no powers as Bruse Wayne. His parents were killed in front of him leaving him a vast fortune and the desire to rid Gotham of crime. He has knowledge of things that many people could not even comprehend and has studied many different forms of martial arts. He uses his vast knowledge and wealth to build gadgets that he can use in almost any conceivable situation.
In all probability, the fight would start off in either the streets of Gotham or Metropolis. Superman is incredibly strong and fast however he is vulnerable to Kryptonite, fragments of Krypton. If Batman had Kryptonite then he could hold it to Superman’s chest and wait for him to die. It is however unlikely that Batman would have Kryptonite in his utility belt but could access it either through Wayne Enterprises or in his Batcave. In order to escape, Batman could use something from his utility belt to shock Superman and then escape through the sewers. Once he has the Krytonite, he could kill Superman. I know you may be thinking that Batman would never kill anyone but I am going under the assumption that Batman needs to kill Superman for national security reasons.
Superman does have some protection from Kryptonite: his Fortress of Solitude. Superman could have something in his fortress that could disarm the Kryptonite as was saw in the show Smallville when Superman’s ship destroyed the Kryptonite necklace he was forced to wear. Superman could also put on a lead suit that would protect him from the Kryptonite but in all likelihood would leave him without his powers. Batman at this point would have the upper hand since he knows pretty much every martial arts style on Earth. The fortress contains all sorts of alien weapons that Superman could use against Batman. Batman may be able to figure out how to use another piece of alien technology against Superman but would most likely need time to study the artifact. Superman has the upper advantage with a working knowledge of the objects in his fortress and could harm Batman. Superman would then be able to send Batman to the Phantom Zone which is a Kryptonian prison and is in another dimension that can be accessed through artifacts in the fortress. Even if Superman deems Batman a national security threat, he could not kill him. Batman can kill Superman because he is darker and does what needs to be done to complete the mission. Superman cannot kill Batman because he believes there is always another way and that line can never be crossed. There is a reason why Superman’s nickname is “Boy Scout.” The Phantom Zone represents a middle ground where Batman could be stopped but would never die.
So what do you think? Am I over looking something? Submit your comments I will try to address the most interesting ones in a future post. Do not forget to start your own discussion in your circle and then submit what you talked about later here.
